The Sport Air Racing League (SARL) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting safe, affordable, and accessible air racing across the United States. Founded in 2007, SARL provides pilots of diverse aircraft—from experimental and homebuilt planes to certified production aircraft—the opportunity to participate in organized, point-to-point air races that emphasize pilot skill, precision, and safety.

Over the past two decades, SARL has grown into a nationally recognized grassroots aviation organization, hosting races in communities across the country and building a strong network of pilots, volunteers, and aviation supporters. The League was established to lower barriers to entry in air racing while upholding rigorous safety standards and fostering a culture of disciplined airmanship.

Central to SARL’s mission is a commitment to developing the next generation of aviation professionals. Through youth outreach, mentorship, and scholarship initiatives, SARL supports students pursuing careers in piloting, aircraft maintenance, and aerospace engineering. These efforts directly contribute to strengthening the aviation workforce pipeline at a time of increasing national demand for skilled aviation professionals.
